Helping Orphans Through Manga/Anime Storytelling
About Us
There are over 147 million orphans throughout the world. Children struggling to survive without the benefit of a strong family or adult supervision. In many countries, these children are treated as outcasts, and it is not uncommon to see them treated as the lowest members of society. They are left to fend for themselves often with dire consequences. Struggling to find even the most basic needs, many of them perish or resort to surviving anyway possible.
In Russia, the statistics are staggering. Only 1 in 10 becomes a functional member of society. For those in the russian orphanages, they are turned out into the street at age 16 to 18 to survive on their own without the support of a family. About 15,000 Russian orphans leave orphanages each year. Of these, 5,000 are unemployed, some 6,000 are homeless, around 3,000 resort to crime, approximately 1,500 commit suicide, and roughly half the girls are forced into prostitution.
In the Ukraine, children can be found living in the sewers as a way of life. With temperatures reaching -25 Degrees, it offers a little protection. Watch Video - Ukraine Orphans
In South America, kids take shelter in the sewers. In Columbia, the children are treated as varmints. They are pursued by "death squads" and removed from society. In Brazil, you'll find kids living in the streets and sewers.
In doesn't matter in which country you look, you'll find children that need help. Invisible children that society has virtually abandoned. This is our mission. To shine a light in these dark places. To make a difference. To encourage you to make a difference.
There are some fabulous people doing great work to help the cast off children of this world. They are people with tremendous hearts and a passion to help. Unfortunately, passion and a heart isn't enough. The problem is too big and has been neglected for far too long. They need help. They need someone to help them to get the word out. That's where we think we can help.
Our mission is to draw attention to the problems facing these children. While many groups focus on helping the children, we are focusing on helping the groups. By building a worldwide audience, we plan to showcase the work of the many groups and create support for their missions to help the children. By going out and meeting the children where they are, we want to experience the childrens' stories and lives. We will give them a voice. While much of the world ignores them or worse, abuses them, we will no longer allow them to be invisible.
We will show the reality of their stories through video. By using the magic of animation and storytelling to entertain and explain, we will share the harsh realities they face. Anime and Manga are a media that can be found in countries worldwide. The uniqueness of anime storytelling allows depth of character and story not seen in other animation and storytelling mediums. By exploring everyday life of its characters, anime allows a depth of storytelling that can span 500 or more episodes. This depth will allow our characters to journey across the world, meet the children, and draw in the viewers to create a worldwide audience. And then this audience will experience the realities of life that the children face. This is Iota Soul.
Iota (i-o-ta) is the ninth and smallest letter in the Greek alphabet. Today, it means a very small quantity.
Soul (sohl) is defined several ways. We chose a combination of meanings in that a soul is distinctly human, but separate from the body. Every human has one.
Iota Soul is about the "small souls" in the world. Telling their story is what matters. Helping them is what matters. Today these small souls are forgotten. They are invisible. Through our work, we hope that tomorrow they will be seen.

hello everyone, sorry i have not been on in a while. lots of school work, ugh. i have some more lyrics. its similar to the first set iu posted about. "Live'in on the streets all alone, our beds are made from cold stone. we have no family, have no home. Trying to stay alive wherever we roam. People always trying to get ahead. They don't care if we end up dead. People always looking down, We walk away with out make'in a sound. This life has its tolls, We ar the iota souls" What do ya think!?

Okay there not that great but here they are. " I've got a lot running through my head. Not sure if ill end up dead. roaming the harsh streets all alone. laying my head on cold stone. people walk by wondering what ill be. they all are looking down on me. they dont see me as a whole, they only see an Iota Soul"
